Protecting Ontario’s Economy: A Breakfast Conversation with Minister Vic Fedeli
On Monday, December 15, 2025, the London Chamber of Commerce welcomed members and guests to Highland Country Club for Protecting Ontario’s Economy: A Breakfast with Minister Vic Fedeli. It was an energizing morning of connection, insight, and shared commitment to the future of business in our region.
There is something special about starting the week in a room full of leaders who care deeply about where our community is headed. We are grateful to everyone who joined us early to be part of an important conversation about Ontario’s economic direction and the opportunities ahead for London businesses. Our COO Kristen Duever moderated the Q&A session with Minister Vic Fedeli after an inspiring presentation by the minister.
A timely conversation on Ontario’s business landscape
The Honourable Victor Fedeli, Ontario’s Minister of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade, spoke directly to the issues and opportunities shaping Ontario’s economy. Minister Fedeli’s message was clear: London is well positioned for what comes next, and Ontario and Canada continue to attract investment.
The discussion also acknowledged the reality many communities are experiencing, including recent job market shifts. At the same time, the tone of the conversation was forward looking and practical, with emphasis on emerging opportunities and growth across key sectors.
Key themes from the morning
Throughout the breakfast, several themes stood out:
London’s position in the future economy
The Minister highlighted the strength and potential of London’s business ecosystem and the role our region can play in Ontario’s continued growth.
Investment and emerging opportunities
While challenges remain, the conversation reinforced that investment continues to flow into Ontario, with new opportunities developing across multiple industries.
Reducing interprovincial barriers
A major focus was the cost of interprovincial barriers and the importance of stronger collaboration across Canada to support trade, improve competitiveness, and unlock economic potential.
Workforce development and skills for the future
The dialogue underscored the importance of training, workforce readiness, and preparing for jobs in a changing economy.
Advocacy and the power of a shared voice
It was meaningful to hear recognition of the London Chamber’s ongoing work in business support and advocacy. When our business community speaks with a shared voice, it makes an impact.
