Policy on Member & Event Lists
To address a common inquiry, the London Chamber of Commerce has a strict, unwavering policy regarding our member and stakeholder data.
We do not, under any circumstances, sell, rent, trade, or otherwise share our member database, event attendee lists, or any other contact lists with third parties.
Our lists are collected for the sole purpose of conducting Chamber business and providing services to our members. Granting external access to this information for any purpose, including for marketing or solicitation, would be a direct violation of our privacy commitment and the trust you place in us.
We respectfully ask that you do not request access to these lists, as our staff are bound by policy to decline all such requests.
How We Handle Member and Attendee Information
1. Information We Collect
We collect and maintain personal information to manage your membership and provide you with services. This information may include:
- Contact Information: Name, business title, company name, address, phone number, and email address.
- Business Information: Industry, number of employees, and company description.
- Transactional Information: Records of event registrations, purchases, and payment history (note: we do not store full credit card numbers).
- Communication Preferences: Your preferences for receiving newsletters and event notifications.
2. How We Use Your Information (Purpose)
In accordance with PIPEDA, we only use your personal information for the purposes identified at the time of collection. These purposes include:
- To Manage Your Membership: Processing applications, renewals, and payments.
- To Provide Services: Listing your business in our official online Member Directory (with your consent), and providing access to member benefits.
- To Communicate With You: Sending official notices, newsletters, and information about Chamber advocacy, programs, and events.
- To Improve Our Services: Analyzing data to better understand our members' needs and improve our offerings.
