Description
Join our WEBShop Series | Virtual Interactive Training Session to learn about how to implement New office procedures to ensure the health of our employees, the public, and clients from our special presenter Therese Van Es with a partnership with Ladder HR Solutions
Accommodations: how could employers accommodate their employees who have no childcare or who have underlying health issues that make them high risk? What about employees who previously took public transit to get to work?Special considerations on women?s motherhood role and how this will be reflected in back to work. In most cases (even the most seemingly equal relationships), the majority of the childcare will fall on women. How will the workplace create inclusion? What policies can they put in place?
Communication will also be important - how often? What information will be included? To who (clients, employees, etc.)
A plan for return to work - are some employees laid off? Who will you call back? How will you decide (seniority? job title? duties? Pay?)? Are there any legal implications to consider? - what is written in the employee's contract? What role does the ESA play? Include information on Bill 186 regarding protected leaves during a state of emergency.
How can I change an employee who is laid off to a termination? What notice is required? Severance? This will all depend on policies and employment contract. What will the future risk be? Employment lawyers will be bogged down and this is a unique event in history so there is no common law to review.
Will you do a phased re-entry? What does that look like? It's best to have a plan of some kind - but that doesn't mean that you have to have specific dates associated with each phase. (and you shouldn't; it should be a flexible plan and a working document).
How are you supporting your employees currently? Did they experience any increases in their cell phone or internet bills while switching to work from home?
<span lang="EN-US" style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:" minor-latin;mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin;mso-bidi-theme-font:minor-latin"="">At what point does the "work from home" arrangement become permanent? Around 6 months. If employees' office is now from their home, how will I ensure proper H&S and ergonomics? When can I do a home inspection? am I allowed to do a home inspection?
