    About McCormick Canada

Founded in London in 1883 as Forest City Spice Mills, McCormick Canada has grown from a small London-based business to be the largest spice, seasoning, dry sauce & seasoning mixes, specialty foods, and flavours business in Canada. We have been a part of people’s lives for almost as long as Canada has been a nation and our products can be found throughout the food industry, from retail outlets, to food manufacturers, and even in the food service businesses. And with beloved brands including Club House, Billy Bee, McCormick Gourmet, Thai Kitchen, Simply Asia and Cake Mate, among others, McCormick Canada brings the taste of London pride to plates across the country.

A subsidiary of McCormick & Co., Inc. based in Sparks, Maryland USA, McCormick Canada keeps its heart and home-base in London, with approximately 530 employees. Our company culture is distinctive and boasts a rich history of employee involvement. Long-service employment is common in all divisions as employees embrace the friendly family atmosphere and we are passionate about philanthropy. Since 1967 McCormick Canada has hosted an annual ‘Charity Day’ that invites employees to volunteer and work an additional day to support the London community. A company-wide movement that ignites internal excitement, the wages from the day are combined and matched by McCormick and donated to a local charity or organization. In recent years, Autism Ontario, Childreach of London, London Food Bank, The London Alzheimer Society, St. Joseph’s Neo Natal Intensive Care Unit, Big Brothers and Big Sisters of London and many others have benefited. In addition, employee time and dedication is woven throughout London with volunteer involvement across dozens of organizations. An internal ‘Community Service Award’ rewards employees who give back with a cash donation to support their preferred charity. Also, for more than 15 years, McCormick Canada has been a dedicated partner to United Way, matching and donating financial contributions from employee deduction campaigns. Recipients of this award include Victim Services, Autism Ontario, ATN Access and Jesse’s Journey.

In addition to enforcing a sustainable Sourcing Program that requires suppliers to practice business with ethical/human rights/environment compliance, McCormick Canada is dedicated to improving our environmental impact and efficiency. Since 2009, through the implementation of energy efficient technologies and waste diversion programs, McCormick Canada has reduced its electricity usage by 30 per cent; reduced Greenhouse Gas emissions by 14 per cent; and increased waste diverted from landfill by 40 per cent. We are also an active sponsor of the Canadian Honey Council.

Open any pantry or cupboard in any kitchen in Canada, and you’ll likely find a variety of our products, and our ingredients and flavours are used to create many of the famous foods Canadians enjoy. McCormick Canada is proud to be a part of London’s past and looks forward to being a part of our community’s flavourful future.
