London Chamber Proud to Support Muskoka Flood Relief Fund
LONDON-ONTARIO- From May 3-5, the Ontario Chamber of Commerce (OCC) held their Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Policy Conference which was hosted this year by the Muskoka Lakes and Gravenhurst chambers of commerce. Recently, Muskoka and surrounding areas have been significantly affected by flooding which has caused massive damage. After the OCC Board and several community chambers witnessed the destruction first hand, they collectively donated over $10,000 to the Muskoka Victim Services Fund.
Upon returning from the OCC AGM London Chamber of Commerce CEO, Gerry Macartney and President-Elect, Courtney Hance made a recommendation to the London Chamber Executives that the London Chamber donate $250 to the Flood Relief Fund. Not only was this recommendation fully supported but several members of the London Chamber Board of Directors also contributed personally to the fund, raising a total donation from London of more than $1500.
“We in Muskoka are truly overwhelmed by our chamber family! We can't thank you enough”
said Sandy Lockhart Executive Director of Gravenhurst Chamber of Commerce.
