London Chamber of Commerce granted ''the standard in Chamber excellence'' Accreditation
LONDON – The London Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that the Chamber Accreditation Council of Canada has once again granted full accreditation with distinction to the London Chamber of Commerce for an unprecedented 5th consecutive 3-year term (2019-2021).
“This is a very rigorous, time consuming yet very worthwhile process that engages all members of our staff in completing the application process”, said Chamber CEO Gerry Macartney. The Council requires that we meet the test in three distinctly different pillars that include:
1) Organization and Governance;
2) Policy Development/Advocacy/Community Leadership;
3) Membership Programs and Services/Communications/Events/Benefits and Services
In each pillar we must provide documented evidence that our Chamber is performing at the highest level in the “Large – Over 500 member – category”. “This is no small feat adds Macartney – we know we actually do all of things that are required for accreditation, having them all documented and sent off for adjudication is quite something else”. “In other words it’s not just our opinion that we perform at a high level, it’s actually recognized by an expert panel charged with the responsibility of granting accreditation.
That is not only reassuring for staff, it says to our Board and our members you are part of an organization that can be entrusted with your money, your time, your opinions and your credibility”. That in itself is reward enough but having that “Accreditation” log on all of our marketing materials is something we can all be proud of.
Credit for quarterbacking the very time consuming application process goes to Special Events Coordinator Julia Cunningham who expertly assembled all of the requisite materials for the application.
