On April 30th about 300 members of London's business community took part in the most hilarious networking event of the year. Funny Business is truly a Chamber event that is like no other.

Divided into three main sections, the event consisted of a silent auction and networking time; a live auction and comedy followed by an After Hours Club. The cozy, club atmosphere of the London Music Hall was perfectly suited to the casual, yet energetic tone of the evening. This year, guests were surprised to be greeted by Vegas-style showgirls (courtesy of OLG) who mingled during the silent auction and networking portion of the evening.

Chamber members were treated to hilarious stand-up routines by Roger Chandler, Terry McGurrin and Pete Zedlacher. And the superb performance by Cheryl Lescom and the Tim Woodcock Band at the After Hours Club was an ideal way to conclude the night.

Funny Business - our Comedians for 2011!

Terry McGurrin

is the only performer to have been nominated for Canadian Comedy Awards in three separate categories: Stand Up Comedy, Television Writing, and Television Directing. He is also the first comedian to have taped 3 separate Comedy Now Specials for CTV and The Comedy Network. Currently, Terry is a co-star and writer on the sketch comedy show Comedy Inc. which can be seen on CTV and The Comedy Network and won the prestigious Gold Medal for "Best TV Variety Program" at the New York Television Festival and was recently nominated for "Best Ensemble Cast" at the 2007 Geminis.

Peter Zedlacher

Born and raised in the northern Ontario town of Wawa, Pete moved to New York City after graduation to attend the American Musical and Dramatic Academy. The intensive acting program helped him infuse a theatrical element into his act. Working exclusively in theatre around New York, he began performing at the famed William Redfield Theater in an Off-Broadway Production. Following this successful run, Pete found his way back to his homeland. Considered one of Canada's premiere club comics, selling out across the country, Pete is a force of nature when it comes to stand-up comedy.

Roger Chandler

Roger Chandler has opened for Jerry Seinfield, Howie Mandel, and the Nylons. His act features a combination of sight gags, one-liners, and jokes with a smooth familiarity. The Vancouver SUN said: "Intelligent, redeeming social value, but mostly, good fun."
