About the Event
Eastablished in 1982, this black tie / business formal dinner event takes place annually and is one of the most prestigious business events of the year. Designed to publically recognize London businesses that exemplify excellence, to be a finalist for an award is in itself a great accomplishment.

Corporate Icon Award
For the second year, The Chamber is presenting the Corporate Icon Award to a corporation that has demonstrated particular excellence or achievement in certain aspect of business, making either an immediate impact on, or a substantial long-term contribution to, the economic progress of our community.
- 2008 Corporate Icon Award is Trudell Medical Ltd. For over 26 years Trudell has been a leader in aerosol drug delivery devices. Mitch Baran, owner and Chairman of Trudell Medical Ltd. will accept the award.
Business of the Year Award, Large and Small
Recognizes one large company (50+ employees) and one small company (up to 50 employees) for outstanding performance. Institutional facilities and non-profit organizations are not eligible. Nominees are solicited throughout the year. To be eligible, a company must have been operating for at least 3 years in the private sector.

Excellence in Human Resources Award
Competition for human resources and labour shortages is quickly becoming a reality as a result of aging demographics across Canada. Acquiring talented people matters to small businesses too. Companies that recognize the threat of labour shortages will focus on who they recruit and select, how they retain talented employees and what recognition they provide these employees. This award is designed to recognize human resources excellence in companies of any size that develop and practice successful approaches to protect their businesses from the challenge of labour shortages.

London Quality Award
The London Quality Award recognizes outstanding achievement in quality. The award is a stepping stone to the Canadian Awards for Excellence‚ Quality Award. The London District Chapter of the American Society for Quality (ASQ) coordinates this award which is open to all organizations in Middlesex County. Finalists demonstrate quality in the following areas: Leadership, Planning, Customer Focus, People Focus, Process Management, Supplier/Partner Focus, and Overall Business Performance.

Global Traders Innovation Award
Recognizes excellence in the application of existing or new technology in the development of new products or services and/or improvements to existing products or services that lead to consistent growth in exports and job creation. Breakthrough achievements in research and development, technology and infrastructure, as well as product and service development and design are the focus of this award.

Global Traders Market Expansion Award (Product or Service)
Recognizes the pioneering spirit of Ontario SME's that have successfully established themselves in a new export market in addition to existing markets. A company must demonstrate a significant increase in export sales and job creation as a result of having entered a new market and/or overcome difficult obstacles in order to establish itself within the market.
All award recipients are eligible for the Ontario Chamber of Commerce Business Achievement Awards.
