Annual Bell Comedy Auction, April 26 2008
Thank you to the London business community for another phenomenal event!
With just under 450 guests, the London Convention Centre was roaring with laughter and bidding as chamber members came out to support local business. Dennis Storey riled the crowds during the live auction while classical guitarist Aimée Piché and vocalist Carole Allison provided a welcomed reprieve before comedian Derek Edwards took to the stage.

About the Event
Each year hundreds of members of the London business community crowd into the London Convention Centre for an evening of bidding and belly-laughs. A silent and live auction opens the event with over a hundred fabulous items up for grabs, followed by a comedy show with a renowned comedian and local talent.

About the Artists and Entertainment
The London Chamber of Commerce together with artist sponsor Ernst & Young LLP and Entertainment sponsor Labatt Breweries Ontario, is pleased to inlcude local talent in our show.
The Artists' Corner
We are grateful to five local artists for sharing the evening with us.
Four of artists, listed below, are displaying original pieces in “The Artists' Corner”. They have agreed to be on hand throughout the silent auction to meet with you and discuss their work. The fifth, Morag Webster-Lesarge, will be featured as a portrait artist in the live auction.
- "Abstract Face" by Kym Brundritt
Kym's work can be described as whimsical with reason to ponder. This acrylic on canvas is no exception.
- "April Showers" by Donna Andreychuk
Colour and feelings are expressed in acrylic on a 30'X 30” canvas. Donna offers this timely piece for your consideration.
- "Port Series # 16" by Bill Conly
In keeping with his current style, Bill has selected a big and bold acrylic on a 48”x 48” deep profile stretched canvas.
- "Love in the Landscape" by Kim Wilkie-Vaessen
Presented on a 20”x 40” diptych, this work is typical of Kim's search for new ways to combine texture and passion.
- "Portrait in Paint” by Morag Webster-Lesarge
Morag will fill the blank canvas with the face of a loved one. Her ability to capture the spirit and personality of her subjects has made her a popular choice by corporate and private collectors for over fifteen years. She is a member in good standing with the Portrait Society of Canada and a graduate of the Canadian Portrait Academy. Like her fellow artists participating this evening, she has agreed to donate 50% of the winning bid to the London Chamber of Commerce. Please be generous.
PlayBill
Aimée Piché
A native Londoner, Aimee was awarded a scholarship to study classical guitar at The Eastman School of Music in Rochester. She has played several times professionally including featured performances with Orchestra London in 2006 and the Brampton Symphony Orchestra in 2007. In 2005, she received the silver medal for Grade 10 Guitar from The Royal Conservatory of Canada.
Carole Allison
We are happy that Carole chose London after leaving her native Trinidad in 1977. Her passion is art, in all of its many forms. She admits that her first love, after her 21 year-old son, is music. Jazz, Blues and Roots can be found in her “sacred space”. She began to sing at about the same time she began to walk. Carole's distinctive vocal style can be heard in clubs around London. To preserve the passion she has recorded two CD's of original music… “Just in Case” and “Distraction”.
2008 Auction Donors
The Comedy Auction is the Chamber's single largest fundraiser of the year and the proceeds from this event allows the Chamber to continue to act on your behalf at all three levels of government as the Voice of Business, and help keep membership fees reasonable.
Over 100 items will be up for auction over the evening, thanks to the generousity of the following companies who have, as of April 23rd, donated to this year's event. As you can see, many fabulous items will be up for auction!
