Committee Objectives
- To manage and promote the successful execution of no less than four “Friday Business Matters” events in the 2007-08 Chamber fiscal year.
- To act as the “go-to” committee when and if opportunities avail themselves to the Chamber such as the Prime Minister's Luncheon Address, the Premier's inaugural visit (post-election), and other such dignitaries or celebrity speakers including the “Engaging Insights” event series.
- Provide informative or educational type seminars and workshops to the membership on topics such as best practices, conformity to new or emerging legislation, regulations and/or policies for the benefit of the affected members.
2007/2008 Program Plan
- Identify four keynote speakers who can best fill the needs of the Friday Business Matters mandate. Establish calendar dates – assist with marketing plan.
- Design and implement a ‘Fast-track” marketing template to deal with “celebrity” opportunities as they become available.
- Meet with/consult with management of both the London Chamber and the London Convention Centre to deliver at least one successful “Engaging Insights” event at the London Convention Centre.
- To consult with and act as a sounding board for other committees interested in delivering seminars and/or workshops as part of their committee objectives in particular the Municipal Affairs Committee's “Go Green” initiative.
