Meets the second Friday morning of each month.
Committee Objectives
- Leverage the knowledge and experience of committee members to achieve the goals of the Chamber and its Strategic Plan
- Inform and educate Chamber members regarding policy issues and initiatives
- Advocate for Chamber members at the level of the Provincial and Federal governments
2007/2008 Program Plan
- The Committee will organize and sponsor events featuring speakers who will be of interest to the Chamber membership. Said topics will include both current and longer term issues.
- The Committee will produce 2 policy papers directed at Federal issues and 2 policy papers directed at Provincial issues. Said papers will be submitted to the Chamber's Board of Directors for review and approval sufficiently in advance of the annual policy conventions of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce and the Ontario Chamber of Commerce, respectively.
- The Committee will, where appropriate, liaise with the Chamber's Municipal Affairs Committee to ensure coherence of policy and message.
- The Committee will meet monthly to review the progress of its work, to review policy issues that may arise, and to conduct such other business as may be required of it.
- The Committee will oversee the 2007 provincial election readiness survey
